Motorola's 3-D Reach technology delivers superior wireless range, performance, and coverage using a combination of antenna tuning, advanced radio technology, increased transmit power, and improved receive sensitivity.

3-D Reach uses two radio antennas specifically tuned for both vertical and horizontal range, providing seamless wireless coverage with no dropped connections or dead zones. This dual antennae architecture is specifically tuned for orthogonal antenna diversity as well as azimuth and elevation co-polarization, resulting in superior wireless coverage throughout any residential or small business application.

Advanced radio technology found in 3-D Reach delivers up to double the wireless reach of competitive products, while improving network robustness using unique techniques that minimize interference from products like microwaves, cordless phones, and neighboring wireless networks.

Support for Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) assures that Netopia's 3-D Reach-enabled products apply advanced quality of service (QoS) controls to traffic demands from various applications, including voice, video, music, interactive gaming, and more. WMM defines four access categories (voice, video, best effort, and background) that are used to prioritize traffic so that quality-sensitive services like video and Voice over IP are given priority over less urgent traffic, such as Web browsing.

3-D Reach Extreme is performance optimized to provide maximum performance and consistency from device to device, in a wide range of environments. A highly tuned hardware design incorporating an integrated radio and on-board antenna is tightly coupled with Netopia's powerful embedded software for the ultimate wireless connectivity. 3-D Reach Extreme is available on Netopia® 3300 Series Wi-Fi Gateways and Routers and Netopia 7000 Series Wireless Gateways. 3D-Reach Extreme features adjustable radio output of up to 400mW.

3-D Reach Express provides high levels of wireless performance while optimizing cost. 3-D Reach Express is found on Netopia 2200 Series ADSL2+ gateways and Wi-Fi adapters. 3-D Reach Express offers adjustable radio output of up to 200mW.
