This tech note explains why a Timbuktu Pro guest may get an error message when attempting to make an outbound Dial Direct session
If any user tries to make a modem to modem connection without there TCP/IP protocol installed they will receive this error:
Error
-maybe a modem has not been installed.
-maybe the selected modem is in use or has been removed from the system.
-maybe there are multiple modems are installed and an incorrect modem as been installed.
Timbuktu Pro is designed with the assumption that if a modem is installed, the user will be using it to dial up to their ISP in which case, the users TCP/IP protocol will need to be installed.
Install the TCP/IP protocol on your system.
