Running Timbuktu Pro v4.5 with Windows XP's Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen Features

TP2000_012

This tech note explains how XP users can run Timbuktu Pro with Windows XP's Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen features.

Situation:

When the full Timbuktu Pro application is active I can't use Windows XP's Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen features.

The Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen features are disabled to avoid potential conflicts with the full Timbuktu Pro application. By default, Timbuktu Pro runs in Mini-TB2 mode on Windows XP since Mini-TB2 does not interfere with Windows XP's Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen features like the full application.

To avoid potential conflicts, Windows XP's Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen are temporarily disabled when the full Timbuktu Pro application is active. This means that the user must log off and log back in as a different user instead of using the Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen features. You can also simply wait for Mini-TB2 to shut down the full Timbuktu Pro application for you. After this the Fast User Switching and Welcome Screen features will be reactivated.
