Switching to black and white before initiating or during a control/observe session can improve performance.

Problem:

The screen redraws slowly during a Control or Look session and the customer wants to increase screen-sharing performance.

Situation:

For users that want to increase Timbuktu's screen sharing speed, it may be possible to increase the performance if a color connection is not required

Solution:

For improved performance, try switching to a black and white connection through one of the following methods:

1. Deselect the host preference Allow Connecting in Color
2. Deselect the guest preference for Connect in Color
3. Change the host's screen to display Grays in the Monitors control panel
4. Click on the black and white button on the left border of the control or look window during your control or look session.
