Attempting to apply the 3.6.2.2 Admin update will result in error message

Problem:

Running the 3.6.2.2 Windows Administrator Update on a netOctopus Administrator that already has the 3.6.2.1 Windows Administrator update applied, will result with an error message: "The file 'C:\Program Files\netOctopus Admin\netOctopus.exe.' could not be updated."

Situation:

The 3.6.2.2 Windows Administrator Update updates the 3.6.2 netOctopus Windows Administrator for Windows XP support and correctly reports the new Macintosh models that were released in the year 2001. To install, first install the 3.6.2 Windows Administrator and then install the 3.6.2.2 Windows Administrator Update.

If you already have applied the 3.6.2.1 Windows Administrator Update to the 3.6.2 netOctopus Windows Administrator, the 3.6.2.2 Update will fail with the previously mentioned error message.

You may also get this error message if you try to install the update to an older version of the netOctopus Windows Administrator.

Solution:

In order to apply the 3.6.2.2 Update to a 3.6.2 Windows Administrator with the 3.6.2.1 update applied, you will need to save your current databases and templates, uninstall the netOctopus Administrator, reinstall the Administrator, install the 3.6.2.2 Windows Administrator Update, and restore your databases and templates.
