How to Establish a TCP/IP Connection to a System Behind a Webramp Router

How to establish a TCP/IP connection to a system behind a router

This brief guide is intended to help first time users of Timbuktu Pro quickly set up and establish a connection between two machines over TCP/IP through a Webramp router running Network Address Translation. This is by no means a definitive guide. There are alternate ways of establishing a Timbuktu Pro TCP/IP connection. This guide only presents one of them.

How to connect to a machine behind a WebRamp router:

  1. In the WebRamp Setup page, click Advanced.
  2. Click Local Configuration, and then click Applications.
  3. Click Local Servers, and then click Enable.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Enter the IP address of the machine that you want to connect to.

  6. Select Other for Service Type.
  7. Select UDP or TCP for the corresponding Timbuktu ports.
  8. Enter in the Timbuktu port for External Port and Internal Port.
  9. You may enter anything you want for the Service Type Name.
  10. Click Apply
If you need to add more Timbuktu Pro ports, repeat steps 5 through 10 above.
