Initial Setup 3300 Series IEQG_121
Your new Netopia router has been supplied to you by eircom, and has been preconfigured to operate on their network. There is no need to make any confguratin changes. However, if you plan to do any configuration on the router, be sure that you have accurate information as regards your account parameters from the service provider. Otherwise you may be unable to readily establish your internet connection.

This guide assumes that you are configuring this device for the first time or that the router has been reset to factory default.

Before You Start
Browse into the Netopia's web interface at http://192.168.1.254 (if using the default IP setting). If your network has a different IP addressing scheme, modify this accordingly.

Your Netopia Eircom Gateway home screen will appear. If your router is running the latest Eircom approved firmware, you will see an opening screen similar to the image below on the right. Instructions pertaining to this technote will follow immediately after this introduction.
Routers running firmware prior to version 7.4.2 R2 will have a home screen similar to the image on the left. Click on the caption bar below the screen shot to go directly to those instructions.

Basic Configuration for Firmware v7.4.2 R2 (and later)

  1. Browse into the Netopia router.
  2. In the L/H menu column, click on Expert Mode and confirm this action.
  3. In the L/H menu column, click on Configure, then Connection.
  4. The values on this screen are typically preconfigured by the ISP.
  5. If the eircom network login has changed, you would enter that new information in the User Name: and Password: fields.

    Caution: None of the information above the User Name: field should be altered. Doing so will result in a loss of your internet connection.

  6. Click on and confirm to restart the Netopia.
Conclusion:
Should you lose any previously working configuration, or have a change of any account information, these few brief steps should get you reconnected to the eircom network.
