- Works with the Timbuktu Pro Management Server to centrally manage remote control deployments and streamline support.

'Preferences' tab now contains:

- Timbuktu Pro Version 8 supports SSH to encrypt and compress Timbuktu Pro connections. SSH compression may also increase Timbuktu Pro performance. Use of this feature requires an SSH server, which is not included with Timbuktu Pro.
- Observe/Control Host and Observe/Control Guest tabs in the Preferences dialog box provide a number of new options to increase the performance or security of your screen-sharing sessions.
- The logging capabilities in Timbuktu Pro have been dramatically enhanced. Timbuktu Pro now supports two different types of centralized logging for all the Timbuktu Pro computers on your network: the Timbuktu Log Server, which allows you to copy information from your Timbuktu Pro activity log or Event Log file to another Timbuktu Pro computer, and the NT Event Log Server, which allows you to copy information about Timbuktu Pro events from your Windows Application Event Log to the Application Event Log on another Timbuktu Pro computer.
- Timbuktu Pro now uses a single TCP port (407.)
- Timbuktu Pro now uses a Windows MSI installer with a user interface, allowing more options on install.

New Features
- Timbuktu Pro Version 7 includes a new service, Invite. This service allows you to invite other users to access your computer using the Timbuktu Pro service you specify.
- The new Timbuktu Pro Scanner helps you find and connect to remote computers, even when you don't know their IP addresses, by browsing your local network for active Timbuktu Pro computers. You may even connect to the desired computer without leaving the Timbuktu Pro Scanner.
- The Observe/Control tab in the Preferences dialog box now includes a new option, Use Capture Frame. When you enable the Use Capture Frame option, the Capture Frame will open on your desktop when a remote computer establishes a Control or Observe connection to your computer.
- The screen-sharing window now supports a mouse wheel and extra mouse buttons.
- When controlling a remote computer, the host computer's caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock states are set to match the guest computer's settings.
- Keyboard mapping is now performed logically, rather than physically.
