Netopia 3546-002 Feature Key Reinstallation for SBC

Under certain conditions, the Netopia 3546-002 internet gateway supplied by SBC can lose some functionality. You may notice this immediately as a situation where only one computer at a time can access the internet. This can be easily remedied in a few minutes with a feature key upgrade.

  • Attach one computer ONLY directly to the Netopia's 4-port ethernet hub via the ethernet cable.
  • Browse into the Home Screen Menu.
    Click Here! for assistance with getting logged into the gateway.
  • Under General Information you will see the Serial Number of the gateway;
    enter that number into the field below.
  • When you click on "Submit," a new window will open; please complete the form to generate the feature key. Save the key file to your desktop, close that window and proceed below.
    Please Note: This particular upgrade is free and no funds will be charged to your credit card.

  • For best results please use either Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers for web updates.
  • With the upgrade file saved to the desktop, click Install the Feature Key into the Netopia.
  • After about 20 seconds you will be prompted to Restart the Gateway.
  • Once the Netopia is back online, you should upgrade the firmware to the latest version, 6.4.0r2. Click on the link to download the firmware file and save it to the desktop.
This process will only take a few minutes and should have you back online quickly. Once this is all completed the gateway will have full functionality and the latest version of firmware for SBC.

If you experience any problems with this form, please contact Netopia Customer Service at 1-877-466-8646. If your Netopia is still covered by the initial 60-day service contract, or if the service contract has not yet been activated, we can troubleshoot the issue with you.
