- MSN Messenger ALG - Allows use of MSN Messenger without configuration of a specific server in the NAT server list.
- AIM Messenger ALG - Allows use of AIM Messenger without configuration of a specific server in the NAT server list. Tested on Win98, ME, Win2K and XP.
- Modem Backup - Support for backup via an external modem connected through the console port on 4000-series routers with serial numbers 9729776 and later.
- Prioritized TOS (Type of Service) - Allows the router to give priority to certain IP applications that have the TOS bit set.
- DHCP Autoconfiguration (Covad) - When the device is configured for the Covad SKU, LAN DHCP serving will recalculate based on an IP/subnet change.
- DSO Auto Detection (Covad) - Auto detects the number of DSO's for routers on the Covad network. Applicable to Nokia DSLAMS exclusively.
Resolved Issues:
- NAT table updates via SNMP crashed router under certain circumstances.
- SNMP configuration of the default gateway wouldn't update in the CLI unless switched to menu mode.
- ATM training on the 4522/4622
- T1 Autodetect after reboot
- Basic Firewall blocking the NTP updates on port 123
- Configuration of too many users allowed via the CLI
