Netopia MiAVo gateways designed for
fiber-to-the-neighborhood

Building on Motorola's legendary broadband gateway architecture, Netopia 7000 Series gateways deliver the critical technology, features, and manageability required for superior IPTV and VoIP service reliability and quality. Implementation of dual PPPoE and IPoE WAN stacks allows for the best fit in the provider's network, supporting high-speed Internet as well as IPTV and VoIP services.

Auto-provisioning. From initial service deployment, Netopia 7000 Series gateways help providers reduce operational costs and complexities. Upon initial power-up, Netopia 7000 Series gateways can automatically "phone home" by contacting a pre-designated auto configuration server (ACS), such as the Motorola Netopia Broadband Server (NBBS) service management platform or another ACS that supports the DSL Forum TR-069, to automatically receive the latest software updates and configuration information.

This real-time provisioning also helps streamline inventory management by leveraging a common hardware platform that can be customized upon activation.

Flawless IPTV Delivery. Once in service, Netopia 7000 Series gateways assure flawless IPTV delivery through a host of key features:

  • Motorola's VGx QoS technology paired with advanced multi-level queuing and packet prioritization mechanisms provides broadcast-quality video, as well as crystal-clear voice.
  • A single Netopia 7000 Series gateway can concurrently serve multiple video streams from different content providers to different TVs or devices through support for TR-101.
  • Fast and reliable channel changing is assured through support for IGMPv2 and IGMPv3 proxy functions with Layer 2 IGMP snooping and fast leave capabilities.
  • Video-on-demand features like fast forward, pause, and rewind are enabled via RTSP support.

Powerful Wi-Fi. Netopia 7000 Series gateways equipped with Wi-Fi feature Motorola's powerful 3‑D Reach® Extreme technology for superior wireless range, performance, and coverage. Support for Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) assures that advanced QoS controls are applied to specific types of traffic so that quality-sensitive services like IPTV and VoIP are given priority over less urgent traffic, such as Web browsing.

Remote Manageability. Netopia 7000 Series gateways offer comprehensive remote manageability, including centralized remote provisioning, troubleshooting, and management, through support for the DSL Forum TR-069 and TR-111 specifications.

When paired with the Motorola NBBS service management platform, the Netopia 7000 Series gives carriers the ultimate triple-play service delivery platform with reduced operational expenses for improved profitability.

Connectivity Options. The Netopia 7000 Series includes VDSL2 gateways for IP-based networks. LAN connectivity options include Ethernet, 3-D Reach Extreme Wi-Fi, and plastic optical fiber (POF).

Netopia Embedded Software. The Netopia 7000 Series features Netopia Embedded Software for Residential and Business Customers. Designed for service provider deployment to residences, small office/home offices, and small businesses, it sets Motorola DSL broadband gateways apart from competitive products by providing the intelligence service providers need to deploy high-value broadband services.
